Hello ladies, and thank you for visiting my website.

Let me start by telling you a little bit about myself. My name is Hayley Elizabeth Foster, and I am the designer, dressmaker, and owner of Hayley Elizabeth Couture. In June 2002, I passed my degree with honours in Fashion and Clothing at Leeds College of Art and Design. I decided to set up a business of my own in May 2006 after the birth of my son, and after five years of working in the retail clothing industry for companies such as Coast Womanswear, and Topshop Womanswear. I have also studied a HND in Media and Special Effects Makeup, and feel it will contribute towards building up an image for my clients, may they require my help in this area. However, I love to design and make unique, special occasion wear for ladies who want to be individual in their style, therefore this is where I want to focus my attention.

I work completely on my own, and my aim is to provide a quality service as well as designing and making a quality product. Your advantage as a customer/client in working with me on a design for yourself is that from the initial consultation where we will meet to discuss your needs and ideas, to the day you pick up your gown or outfit, you will only ever deal with me. This eliminates mistakes and poor communication, and instead builds trust, providing ease of mind, which is paramount when your mind needs to concentrate elsewhere, whether that may mean
planning a wedding, holiday of business event for example.

I can design and make whatever you like, and will work with you to produce something which suits you best, in colours, fabrics, textures and detail that expresses your personality and feed your desires. I work in a traditional couture fashion, whereby your personal body measurements are taken, and the design is made into a toile (cotton mock-up) initially and altered to fit perfectly before then making the design in the fabric of your choice. There are no size restrictions in this way of working as each design is individually made to fit each client. This gives reason to why couture clothing is so expensive as does the necessary amount of hours that go into producing something that is so unique.

Just to provide you with a price guideline so you are aware of my costs before you decide to take your enquiry further. My prices, which include everything from consultation, design, toile, fittings, detail, materials etc, start from £1,500.00 and rise to £7,250.00. This is calculated in the amount of hours it takes to produce gowns/outfits. Prices given are from 50hrs to 300hrs, plus cost of materials, fittings, consultations, admin, design time and research. However, please note, these prices are for a guideline only. To obtain a personal quote you need to make a consultation appointment with myself where we can sit down to discuss your dream dress or outfit and from the design we create, I can give a true price.

Please also note, a consultation may last up to 3hrs depending on your requirements, therefore I charge £40 upfront for the consultation. Please understand, I am only charging for this upfront so that I receive interest from people who are serious about wanting me to produce a design for them. If you decide to go ahead with a commission, the cost of the consultation will be taken off your personal quoted price. When a gown or outfit is commissioned for me to make after a quote has been accepted, I will take a 50% non-returnable deposit on ordering the commission, and a further 50% final balance on completion.

Do not hesitate to contact me on the Consultations & Commissions page if you have any questions. I look forward to hearing from you, in the meantime, and thanks again.
